I see colors everywhere...
CHColorMapControl is a Cocoa control that allows the creation, editing,
saving, and opening of NSColorLists. An example of this control is used
in the settings for our Fluid screensaver to edit colormaps. It handles
smooth gradations between colors or it can be set to show solid color
swatches between positions. It handles color opacity values and shows
transparent colors with a grid behind them (very much like Photoshop
does with layers).

There
is a sample application included in the CHAppKit
package that is a standalone colormap editor which can be used to save
OS X-standard colormaps that, when saved to your "Colors"
library directory, can be used in the standard color picker within the
OS. As far as I know, this is the only such control or application
that deals with Apple's colorlist data.

Note: CHColorMapControl is in constant development as
I see new uses or needs for it. Because of this, feel free
to offer hints, advice, kudos, or complaints so that I can
make it better.
